about us

Monkey Boyz was established in 2022 as a joint venture between Holly Chodak and Colin Frost, being friends and business associates, over many years, we came up with a idea, and a plan to start up our oilfield service company. Our back grounds are extensive, in the oil and gas industry.

Colin started in the oil and gas right out of school, starting in the maintenance side first then moving to trucking. In 1987, Colin started his first company, Cofro Trucking, where Colin purchased a new tank truck, and ran that for 3 yrs. After that he sold his truck to Norette Oilfield, in 1990, and joined their team shortly after that. At Norette he worked his way from a tank truck driver, to a Hot Oiler operator, to sales and field rep, for 15 yrs.

He started his next business venture, during his time at Norette, by starting a rental business, ROCO Oilfield Systems, where he would build that company from the ground up, renting out office trailers, construction trailers, light towers, and generators. He stayed with that until 2015, when he sold his equipment.

In 2005 he then started with Pennwest where he stayed for 10 yrs, as a field operator, he was released in 2015, due to downsizing of the company. From 2015 to 2019, during the recession, he was involved in the automotive industry, but later found employment as a contract operator for local Oil Company, where he continues to work, along with starting Monkey Boyz.

Holly’s business career started with the family business, after getting her Management Studies diploma. She worked alongside her mother and father at what was known as Grinde’s Sausage House, which was located first at Bear Lake and later moved to west of Drayton Valley along the Lodgepole hwy. During this time, she started a transport company, which would compliment, the family business, hauling refrigerated freight, to and from their butcher shop here locally, and to other local businesses, which carried on for few years, until they sold both businesses.

After they sold the businesses, Holly then became self employed, with her own business, KGB Office Management Services, which she still owns and operates to this day. Looking after many aspects of the day to day operations for many local businesses, which are mainly oilfield operations. Holly’s family has been closely associated in the oil and gas industry for many years, and her background, is mainly oil and gas related.

So both owners have been raised here in Drayton Valley, and have had a long time association with local businesses, since the start of Monkey Boyz, we have taken great pride in supporting our community, though charities and fund raisers, and look forward to servicing the Drayton Valley and surrounding areas with honesty, and integrity, good quality service, along with competitive rates.
